How text updates work at BMCO Motors
This page shows how a customer agrees to text messages from BMCO Motors, (346) 663-8020, and what they get once they have. It exists so the process can be checked without filling in a booking.
1. On the booking form
The booking form is at https://www.bmcomotors.com/#book (Spanish: https://www.bmcomotors.com/es#book). After the customer's details and before the required contact consent there is a separate checkbox under the heading "Text updates (optional)". It is unticked by default, it is not required, and the booking goes through whether or not it is ticked. This is the control, exactly as it appears on the form:
Nothing on this page submits. The Spanish form carries the same control:
When the box is ticked, the booking is recorded with the date and time of consent, and the shop's copy of the request says "Text updates: Yes". When it is not ticked, the record says "No" and nobody texts that number.
2. At the counter or on the phone
A customer who drops a vehicle off or books by phone is asked out loud. The service advisor asks:
Can BMCO Motors text you at this number about your repair? It's only about this vehicle — questions, your estimate, and when it's ready. How often depends on the job. Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time to end the texts or HELP for help.
Only if the customer says yes does the advisor mark the customer's record "Texting OK" in the shop's software, which stores the answer, the date and time, and that it was given at the counter. A customer who says no, or who is not asked, is never texted. Saying no changes nothing about the repair; consent is never a condition of service.
3. What the texts are
Every message about a vehicle is typed by a person at the shop: a question about the work, an estimate to approve, or word that the vehicle is ready. There are no marketing messages and no automated campaigns. Message frequency varies with the repair; a typical visit is a few messages. Message and data rates may apply.
Two replies are automatic, and those are the only ones: an acknowledgement if a customer calls and the shop cannot pick up, and the HELP reply below.
4. HELP and STOP
Reply HELP to any message and the shop replies:
BMCO Motors: repair updates for your vehicle. Call (346) 663-8020 to reach us. Reply STOP to stop. Msg&data rates may apply.
Reply STOP (or UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) and the number is marked opted out. The shop's system refuses to send to it from then on. Reply START to opt back in. Spanish and Vietnamese equivalents are honoured as well.
5. Your number
Mobile numbers and consent are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing. Full details: SMS terms and privacy policy.
