Cummins repair in Spring, TX, by the technician who came up on them.
Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups on the 5.9 and 6.7, and the medium-duty trucks that run the same engine. Cummins is our master technician's home ground: fuel systems, turbo, emissions and the heavy service intervals, tested before anything is replaced.
If your Cummins is doing one of these
You do not need to know the cause to book. Describe what the truck is doing and we will find it — that is what the diagnostic hour is for, and it comes off the bill if you have us do the work.
Low rail pressure, hard start, a knock that comes and goes
We test rail pressure and injector return before anything is replaced. A failed high-pressure pump can send debris through the whole fuel system, so we inspect downstream rather than assume the pump was the only casualty.
Boost won't build, exhaust brake stopped working
Turbo actuator faults are common on the variable-geometry turbos. We check the actuator, the vanes for soot build-up and the wiring before condemning the turbo itself.
Coolant loss with nothing on the ground
White smoke and EGR flow codes usually point at the EGR cooler or valve. The cooler and valve are cleaned or replaced, and whatever was sooting them up is dealt with so it does not come back.
Regen won't finish, DEF faults, a countdown on the dash
DPF, SCR and DEF faults are diagnosed and repaired — not deleted, and not cleared and sent back out. See our emissions page for how we handle these.
Long crank on cold mornings
The grid heater and its electrical connection are checked first on the 6.7; on the 5.9 the whole preheat circuit. Fuel delivery and injector return come next if the heater is fine.
Service intervals, done together
Oil, both fuel filters, crankcase breather, air and cabin filters, coolant, and the aftertreatment checks in one visit, with the readings recorded against the truck.
What you get before we touch anything
Same as every job here: we inspect it, photograph what we find, put an estimate in your hands, and wait for you to say yes. On a diesel that matters more, because the parts are expensive enough that nobody should be guessing.
Diagnosis you can read
A full code pull and live data, cross-checked against what the truck is actually doing — then explained in plain language. $100, and it comes off the bill if we do the repair.
Published rates
$180/hr for heavy duty and any diesel. Cars and light trucks (up to ½ ton) are $125, trucks (¾ ton and up) $150. Most shops make you call to find out what an hour costs; ours are on the site.
Warranty in writing
Parts carry their manufacturer warranty, usually 6–12 months. Our workmanship is 30 days — if we got it wrong, we put it right at no charge. If a warranty part fails, labor is charged again; we would rather say that up front than at the counter.
Fleet work
Scheduled maintenance programs for working trucks, with one point of contact and records kept against each vehicle. Call and we will work out intervals around how the trucks actually run.

Every diesel service we do, in one place.
